Note: unlike our other tools, WHOIS requires a lookup against domain registries, so this query is made through gomore.in (using RDAP, with a WHOIS fallback). Only the domain name you enter is sent.
About this tool
Find out who owns a domain and when it expires. This WHOIS lookup queries the official registry using RDAP (the modern replacement for WHOIS), with a classic WHOIS fallback, so it returns results for gTLDs like .com and .org as well as country domains like .in, .io and .co.
How to use it
- 1 Enter a domain name (for example example.com).
- 2 Press “Look up”.
- 3 Read the registrar, registration and expiry dates, status and name servers.
- 4 Expand “View raw record” to see the full registry response.
Frequently asked questions
Why does this tool query a server when your others run in the browser?
WHOIS and RDAP data live on registry servers that browsers cannot reach directly (WHOIS uses a non-web port, and many registries block cross-site browser requests). So this lookup is made through gomore.in. Only the domain name you type is sent — no personal data.
What is the difference between RDAP and WHOIS?
RDAP is the modern, structured (JSON) successor to the older text-based WHOIS protocol. This tool prefers RDAP and falls back to WHOIS when a registry has not adopted RDAP yet.
Why are the registrant details hidden or missing?
Since GDPR, most registries redact personal contact details in public WHOIS/RDAP. You will usually see the registrar, dates and status, but not the individual owner’s name or email.
